EVENTS & COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT - INTERNSHIP
(TEMPORARY FULL TIME CONTRACT – 12 MONTHS)
NORTH BAY REGIONAL HEALTH CENTRE FOUNDATION
The successful candidate will assist the Foundation President & CEO and Annual Gifts Officer by supporting third
party events raising funds to support the Health Centre. The Foundation is in a major fundraising campaign. During
the community phase there will be significant increase in activity and events as excitement builds to reach the
community's fundraising goal. The primary objectives of this position will be to provide administrative, content
creation, marketing, research and event management support to the President & CEO and Development Officer
Annual Giving for marketing and event related activities. Specific key duties and responsibilities of the role include but
are not limited to:
Marketing and promotion of the community's healthcare needs
Creation of engaging marketing materials, with high visual impact, focused on educating the public
Participate in the preparation for meetings, events and activities
Data entry and donor data management
Plan, execute and manage Social Media campaigns
Assist in the processing, documentation, acknowledgment and maintenance of campaign donations and pledges
Working with and coordinating volunteers
University or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. The
candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program. The position will be a first full-time
employment in the candidate’s field of study.
University degree or college diploma, preference give to candidates who has completed coursework in Fundraising &
Resource Development, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration and/or similar programs, or possesses
relevant work and/or volunteer experience.
Must be able to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion
Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of staff and volunteers
Highly development organizational skills and ability to work independently
Proven experience establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of computer literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet and database applications
Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers and visitors
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
Good attendance, punctuality and work record is required
Bilingualism is an asset
Valid G class driver’s license required and access to a personal vehicle.
A Criminal Reference Verification and Vulnerable Sector Check (recent as of three months) will be required (see note*)
For Internships: Northern Ontario secondary school graduates 29 years of age or under who recently graduated from an accredited
college or university. Graduates from a high school outside of Northern Ontario who have resided in the North for at least one year
are also eligible. Mature graduates may be considered.
- NOTE: A Criminal Reference Verification (recent as of three months) will be required for all external hires as a pre- condition of employment.
Current NBRHC employees are exempt.
