The Analytics and Insights Specialist translates data into analytics, insights and strategy to help clients achieve their goals. The Specialist plays a key role in the application of internal and external constituent data to the analytics process in order to support the development of alumni-centric and donor-centric business strategies for External Relations and its clients.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years’ extensive experience in data analytics
Demonstrated experience in both qualitative and quantitative market research, database marketing and analytics, strategic planning and performance, measurement, program evaluation, customer relationship management (CRM), market assessment, product development, segmentation modeling and predictive modeling, industry research and analytics, competitive intelligence
Proven experience with advanced machine learning and statistical software packages
Proven experience in development and deployment of market research strategies and programs. Proven track record with database marketing programs and initiatives.
Professional SQL experience with ability to create and optimize queries independently
Ability to design, fine-tune, and test complex algorithms based on predictive models, and to explain designs to database programmers. Ability to test the premises upon which algorithms are based.
Comfortable working with large, complex data warehouses
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical information, analysis, and conclusions to a non-technical audience
Ability to develop business case framework for new business opportunities
Ability to see the big picture opportunities and challenges as well as manage the finest detail
Ability to write pseudocode and technical specifications for programmers
Strong technical and analytical skills to reliably extract, validate, integrate, and work with complex data sets
Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, negotiation, needs assessment skills
Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented environment
Initiative and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written)
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

Temporary assignment or contract of 12 months, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits will be determined upon hiring. This position is excluded from all union accreditation units.
