The Office of the Registrar (RO) ensures adherence to academic regulations and processes that facilitate the provision of valued credentials. A strategic partner in program and student success, the RO champions NAIT’s educational model and provides subject matter expertise on admissions, enrolment and student information system solutions and data.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Assistant Registrar of Admissions and Records, the International Admissions Coordinator is responsible for guiding the International Admissions team in meeting annual International Admissions objectives by providing leadership, training and mentorship. Major responsibilities of the role include planning assignments, performing staff evaluations, hiring and training staff, implementing operational plans, and handling complex applicant cases.

As a member of the RO Leadership Team, the Coordinator will be required to represent the RO on and/or lead work teams, committees, and planning groups both internal to NAIT and external within the community. In addition, the Coordinator would be required to participate in RO strategic planning, contributing to and informing the development of strategic initiatives, guidelines, and procedures.

The International Admissions Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders with questions or concerns about international admissions. Together with the Domestic Admissions Coordinator, this person is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with appropriate program and service areas to facilitate awareness and understanding of Admissions Policy and Procedure, solicit feedback on the current processes, identify and address stakeholders’ needs. As a result, the International Admissions Coordinator helps to inform Admissions Policy and Procedure, refinement of business rules, and is a key member of the Admissions process mapping team.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Admissions methodology and NAIT Admissions business rules and processes.

  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions from an Admissions perspective, competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and keyboarding skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Substantial experience in multi-tasking and prioritizing effectively in a high-stress, high-volume environment

  • Ability to use data insight to inform unit work flow and priorities

  • Ability to make sound decisions, even in the absence of complete information

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

Qualifications:

  • A related post-secondary diploma is required and a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in a post-secondary environment, including experience in supervision, staff coaching and development

Remuneration: $2,510.03 – $3,375.45 bi-weekly plus a comprehensive benefit plan. (Classification - Coordinator II)

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
