- Preparation of hi and mid fedelity mannequin, including set up, programming, trouble-shooting, changing parts and terminal clearning. - Performs routine maintenance of mid and high fidelity mannequins uded in Simulation. - Liases with mannequin company regarding mannequin oepration and repairs. - Programs the mannequins according to the SBE with Sim Leaders. - Organizes equipment for Simulation Labs prior to beginning of each academic term. - Demonstrates equipment operations and procedures to Simulation staff. - Trains Simulation Operators during orientation session and serves as a resource for the Operators. - Serves as liaison with AV services and IT at UofM. - Sets up beside equipment and patient units in Skills/Simulation Labs. - Fabricates and adapts medical and teaching equipment to simulate real life scenarios. - Updates asset inventory. - Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies and recommends purchases. - Maintains policies and procedure manuals. - Maintains lines supply for simulation labs. - Cleans labs including dusting and washing as needed. - Other duties as required.
Education - Licensed Practical Nurse or other nursing training required. Experience - Experience in a hospital or medical setting is preferred. - Experience using and maintaining nursing care equipment is required. - An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of medical terminology and equipment used in nursing is required. - Ability to troubelshoot malfunction and perform minor repairs is required. - Demonstrated microcomputer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and MAC computers is required. - Demonstrated ability to operate audio-visual equipment is required. - Must have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong organizational skills are required. - Excellent command of the English language in both verbal and written communication is required. - Must have a mature attitude with attention to detail and ability to complete assignments in the midst of distractions. - Must be able to work independently as well as in a team. - Ability to lift approximately 80 lbs is required. - Must be capable of performing duties as outline. - Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
