API 510 Inspector
Temporary/Project Based Position
The API Inspector will report directly to Director of AIM (Asset Integrity Management) Services who will establish clear expectations in terms of work quality, efficiency, and technical development. The API Inspector will work directly with the Manager on technical aspects of the projects and therefore must be able to communicate technical requirements and deliverables clearly and concisely.
This Role is not eligible for sponsorship.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Identify potential damage mechanisms
  • Ensure that the inspections performed are meeting the inspection requirements for detection
  • Recommend repairs as appropriate from inspection findings
  • Provide timely feedback of inspection results
  • Provide oversight, interpretation, auditing and approval of NDE to be performed
  • Organize, prioritize, and execute a peak work load
  • Comply with all Koch-Glitsch Canada AIM, and client safety procedures that govern the work being performed
  • Travel as needed up to 100%
Education, Certifications, Work Experience & Skills Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current API 510 Certification
  • 5+ years of experience in fixed equipment & piping inspection
  • MS Office, including Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Effective communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal
  • Knowledge in application and compliance requirements of regulatory codes
  • Knowledge in industry standards and recommended practices (API, ASME, etc.)
  • Current H2S, Confined Space Entry, Fall Arrest and OSSA certified
Education, Certifications, Work Experience & Skills Preferred:
  • Diploma or higher in a trade or technical field
  • Current API 571 & API 580 Certification
  • Knowledge of or exposure to Advanced Modalities
Physical Demands/Unusual Work Conditions:
  • Ability to climb ladders & platforms up to 250 feet with harness and lanyard
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Travel as needed up to 100%
