Mental Health Clinician Intake Coordinator Jobs Vacancy in Alberta Health Services Calgary Jobs Details:

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students.

Required Qualifications:

This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists. Social Workers and Psychologists: Completion of bachelor degree in Social Work or Psychology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW) or the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses: Completion of an accredited nursing or psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Full registration with a professional college under the Health Professions Act. Provisional registration not appropriate in this role. 3-5 years’ experience in Mental Health care providing assessment and therapeutic intervention to patients with acute and/or chronic mental health disorders. 2 years’ experience in Geriatric Mental Health required. Knowledge of clinical mental health disorders commonly seen in the senior’s population required. Knowledge of normal aging and development required. Intermediate computer skills in Outlook email and scheduling, MS Word and Excel required. Intermediate skills in MS Word required. A demonstrated track record of developing effective relationships with diverse professionals required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology. The successful candidate skills and attributes include: Experience in an intake role. Strong foundation in Community Mental Health. Knowledge of Mental Health system and resources within AHS and Calgary. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team. Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively. Flexibility in scheduling and adaptability to changes in role and processes. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
