POSITION: Junior Accountant
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time position available at our Pitt Meadows location in British Columbia
Founded in 1988, Montair was established with the goal of training future professional pilots to a skill and knowledge level that would allow them to serve the airline industry with minimal further training required. Due to strong demand for skilled airline pilots from China's rapidly growing aviation industry, the company took a new direction in 2005. Montair was and continues to be one of the few schools around the world to receive approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to train airline pilots. The company has developed an advanced airline training program, designed to provide the most professional, highly skilled pilots to the airlines. To date, Montair has trained and graduated hundreds of airline pilots, a number that continues to grow.
Montair is one of the fastest growing flight training schools in the country. It is a fast paced environment, with constantly changing objectives.
In charge of full cycle in accounts payable and receivable which include but not limited to:
Ensure supplier invoices are coded, approved and recorded into the accounting system in a timely manner;
Follow up with outstanding and unapproved invoices;
Responds to internal and external accounts payable inquiries;
Prepare cheque payment, wire transfer, online electronic payment and maintain well-organized Payable records;
Daily cash flow monitoring and update cash flow forecast;
Coordinate insurance and banking matters;
Perform accounts reconciliation on Bank accounts, credit card, and inter-company;
Prepare and maintain balance sheet breakdown schedule, fixed assets register;
Issue invoices to customer and ensures receivables are collected promptly
Process received payments
Miscellaneous office support tasks including monitoring office supply, mail etc.
Assists with month-end closing and financial statements;
Assists Controller with misc. reporting, reconciliations, project costing, and other ad hoc projects;
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
One or more years of full cycle experience in a similar role
Degree or diploma is preferred
Enrolled and actively pursing their CPA designation is an asset
Extremely proficient in all modules of Simply Accounting
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Impeccable attention to detail
Knowledge of financial and management accounting principles
Be familiar working in multi-currency transactions
Fluency in Mandarin (preferred)
