Photo Video Editor And Coordinator Jobs Vacancy in University Toronto Toronto Jobs Details:
This position will bring together a strong sense of visual storytelling with a sound understanding of the University’s audiences and the channels for reaching those audiences. Working in a fast-paced newsroom environment, the incumbent will facilitate the creation of photo and video assets needed to illustrate effectively a wide range of stories that promote the University’s core missions of research and teaching and that demonstrate the range and depth of expertise across the University’s three campuses.
Bachelor’s degree with a background in photography, digital media, or communications, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum four (4) years’ related experience in communications and creating content in digital formats. Preference for demonstrated experience producing content designed for digital vs. traditional media. Experience in working with a team of creative services professionals (in-house and external) an asset. Experience in a newsroom or agency, or similar fast-paced creative environments is an asset. Familiarity with the post-secondary education sector, including the cultures of research, teaching and student life, is an asset. Knowledge of the University of Toronto is an asset.
Excellent visual, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated understanding of digital storytelling strategies, tools, channels, trends and capabilities on web and mobile. Strong visual storytelling skills. Strong political acumen needed to understand and illustrate a wide range of stories aimed at varying audiences. Must be creative, resourceful and solutions-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and interact with stakeholders while meeting project deadlines and staying focused on overall project goals.
Familiarity with databases and web-based content management tools, in particular familiarity with digital asset library file types and mark-up languages, e.g. JPG, TIFF, PDF, MPEG, HTML. Experience using project management tools and graphic editing software preferred. Demonstrated analytical and research ability, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to interact comfortably and respectfully with all levels of academic and administrative staff. Excellent public service orientation and evidence of effective teamwork or collaboration.
