The Communications Specialist will work under the supervision of the Communications Director, and will work closely with the Public Relations team.
The candidate will possess a solid communication background with established skills in content curation, writing and editing, and planning and scheduling across multiple internal mediums. The candidate will excel at transforming complex communication into concise messages that reflect Stantec’s brand and voice. The ability to negotiate, apply strategic and critical thinking to build and maintain internal client relationships is integral to the role.
Develop communications plans and execute corresponding campaigns.
Prepare and and implement employee communication strategies through integrated internal media campaigns, that inform employees of organizational program change while aligning with Stantec’s strategic plan and business operations.
Create and edit content including internal articles, executive messaging, and online information.
Develop and maintain corporate information on Stantec’s intranet; vet content through appropriate channels.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Superior writing and editing skills.
Thrives in a fast-paced business environment.
Communicates confidently and effectively with senior management, supervisors, and colleagues.
Works collaboratively and resourcefully within a team, and is an independent self-starter.
Comfortable prioritizing and balancing multiple schedules and deadlines and is detail oriented and organized.
Experience with Web-based tools and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.
Education and Experience
Post-secondary degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related area.
Five or more years of experience in internal communications planning and writing or change management planning.
Experience in communication principles and practices, including change management and eCommunications.
