Taylor & Colt BarberSpa at One York, Toronto (York and Harbour St. just 4 mins from Union Station) is looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. Hours include working some days Monday-Friday, some half day Saturdays.

A barbershop for today’s modern man, catering to every grooming need in a friendly atmosphere located in the South Core of downtown Toronto with the following tourist destinations nearby:

  • Air Canada Centre & Rogers Centre (360 games and concerts per year)
  • Toronto's Revitalized Waterfront (17 million visitors per year)
  • Ripley’s Aquarium (2 million visitors per year)
  • Metro Toronto Convention Centre (Largest in Canada)

We are looking for someone who is a team player, punctual, reliable, and motivated.

Responsibilities and Duties

Be the leader/contact person and assistant of the salon

Ensure company policies and salon standards are maintained

Maintain above and beyond client service levels

Assist staff and client with product knowledge awareness

Assist Manager as required with administrative duties including banking, scheduling, etc.

Maintaining expected standards in the cash area

Duties include:

Booking clients and greeting them both on phone and in-person in a manner that ensures consistent high quality customer experience during entire visit

Being the primary cashier for each shift

Cleaning and maintaining the floor and storage areas

Ensure the salon is locked / unlocked properly

Ensure all required equipment is in good working order

Ensure that scheduled staff have arrived and are at assigned duties if no clients

Assume role of contact person where applicable for deliveries, telephone inquiries, booking appointments, etc.

Complete administrative duties as required and assigned by Manager including any special instructions

Ensure all required equipment is turned on/off

Receiving/shipping and processing of incoming/outgoing goods and processing paperwork

Qualifications and Skills

Prior management experience in a salon would be an asset

Excellent communication skills

Must be motivated, highly enthusiastic and confident

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $14.00 to $16.00 /hour

Experience:

  • Milano system: 1 year (Preferred)
  • salon/barber shop: 1 year (Required)
