Yield Analyst

Department: Operations Location: Toronto, Canada

Reporting to the Global Yield Manager, the Yield Analyst is responsible for providing support to the strategic and profitable management of G Adventures product. As part of a greater team, this position will play a role in facilitating and supporting profitable growth, while minimizing excessive risk, through effective inventory management, data analysis and recommendations for action. This role will actively communicate with a variety of company stakeholders and provide suggestions to achieve optimal outcomes for our travellers and the organization. Further, this role will have a particular focus on ideating and supporting cross-functional predictive analytics projects. This role will utilize all tools and resources including the full set of Company systems reports, discounting, special promotions, marketing initiatives, local sales, inventory load management and associated company reporting.



Responsibilities






Yield and Inventory Management



  • Plan, build and monitor inventory levels for assigned regions and trips
  • Constantly review trip departures to analyze trip profitability
  • Review, analyze and report on profitability while supporting the drive for positive change in assigned regions and trips
  • Gain an in depth understanding of Yield Key Performance Indicators and taking appropriate action to achieve targets
  • Implement inventory management strategies to achieve target set by company
  • Using a wide variety of available reports and reporting tools, employ data analysis techniques to derive meaningful insights, patterns and trends with the dual goals of profitability maximization and high customer satisfaction scores
  • Work closely with various sales and marketing channels to identify ways to drive sales to distressed inventory
  • Develop relationships with company stakeholders to ensure full support of risk product and coordinated efforts towards product priorities
  • Represent and drive the interests of the yield department through effective and clear communication with stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver audience-appropriate presentations of yield data intelligence
  • Develop and implement new procedures and reporting to maximize profitability and efficiency
  • Responsible for maintenance of trip budgets, including tight cost control measures and analysis of the impact of cost changes on trip profitability
  • Assist in the provision of regular reports and stats for the Core Management team as required

Requirements



  • BA in Business, Science, Engineering, Math, Economics or similar with a minimum average grade of 75%
  • Minimum of 4 years’ work experience, with at least 2 years of those years in an analyst role or similar
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience with creating and analyzing forecasting and trending data
  • 1+ years experience working with stakeholders or customers from a variety of cultural/language backgrounds
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Specifically, the ability to communicate large, complex data sets and complex processes in a meaningful way to stakeholders with varied knowledge of the subject matter
  • Experience with project management, particularly across cross-functional teams
  • Extremely organized with the ability to handle a high workload in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing demands
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience with CRM or Business Intelligence software (eg. Salesforce, IBM’s Cognos, Tableau, Looker)
  • Extensive travel experience is desirable
  • Solid understanding of adventure product, processes, the industry and our competitors
  • Understanding of, and identification with, G Adventures’ Core Values
