Research Coordinator Lab Jobs Vacancy in Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Toronto Jobs Details:

We are seeking a Research Coordinator to work within the CP Discovery lab, a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team investigating the etiology and rehabilitation of children and youth with cerebral palsy. The Research Coordinator, reporting to the Research Project Manager, Program Manager, and the Principal Investigator, will primarily focus on the execution of health/medical chart reviews and the day-to-day operations of the CP-NET Clinical Database, a registry of children with cerebral palsy funded by the Ontario Brain Institute.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizing and conducting health chart reviews including data abstraction from obstetrical, neonatal, and rehabilitation medical charts of study participants
  • Abstracting referral information about health care service utilization from medical charts
  • Coordinate and oversee all CP-NET Clinical Database research activities at all participating research sites
  • Aid in ongoing training and development/maintenance of training manuals
  • Development of case-report forms, data collection forms and/or questionnaires
  • Participate in audits and site visits as needed
  • Perform/assist with database design, data entry, on-going maintenance, data quality, and analysis
  • Develop and monitor timelines for study
  • Responsible for maintaining administrative, regulatory and/or ethics documentation
  • Conducting literature reviews as needed
  • Assist in development of new research proposals, preparation of grant applications
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, manuscripts including data analysis
  • Assist in knowledge translation activities
  • Keeping abreast of regulations and policies governing clinical research
  • Liaise with team members, research partners, participants/parents etc. as needed
  • Participate in on-the-job training as appropriate
  • Support team activities (i.e. schedule meetings, preparing agendas/materials, taking minutes) and assist with research and related administrative tasks as required
  • Facilitate other ad-hoc projects as assigned
  • Limited travel within Ontario will be required. May require a flexible working schedule e.g. weekends, overtime

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Registered Nurse (RN/RPN), Registered Midwife, and/or clinical experience in obstetrics and/or neonatal care required
  • Experience working with TAHSN and/or Clinical Trials of Ontario institutions an asset
  • Experience managing large-scale multi-site clinical research/healthcare projects an asset
  • Experience with children and youth with disabilities/pediatric research is an asset
  • Excellent organization, time management and priority setting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access)
  • Working knowledge of database platforms (e.g. REDCAP, OpenClinica)
  • A certification in clinical research (e.g. SOCRA, ACRP) is highly preferred
