Community Health Broker Permanent Full Time Jobs Vacancy in Brant County Health Unit Brantford Jobs Details:
The Community Health Broker collaborates with Health Unit staff, and works with priority populations to bring about positive health changes. By building on existing strengths in the individuals and families, the incumbent will address health issues in the community.
Community Health Broker will promote and facilitate various activities and sessions with priority population groups; utilize and demonstrate educational materials; provide information and support to the community; and link those in need to community agencies for food security and living skills support.
The Community Health Broker must pair genuine dedication to supporting those in need in the community and their families with openness and acceptance of differences in others. Knowledge of and experience working with priority populations is required. On a practical level, experience working or volunteering in a similar community development/engagement role; familiarity with local community resources and excellent English communication skills are essential; fluency in a second language is an asset. A valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle are also required.
Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with ONA Allied Collective Agreement.
Wage rate: $19.98 per hour (70 hours in a two-week period)
