Front Desk Assistant Resort Manager Jobs Vacancy in Oceanside Village Resort Parksville Jobs Details:

Front Desk Assistant / Assistant Resort Manager duties will include but not limited to:

Overseeing Front Desk that it is run efficiently

Training of new staff

Dealing with customer inquiries in person, on the phone and via email

Taking reservations / showing cottages / processing of payments / checking guests in and out

Scheduling staff / overseeing cleanliness of cottages & cleaners

Preparing letters / correspondence / spreadsheets (excel)

Taking inventories for both cottages and maintenance

Listening to customer/cottage owner concerns and effectively dealing with them in a timely manner and to everyone's satisfaction

Ensuring that proper maintenance repairs are being dealt with immediately to ensure guests comfort

Job Requirements Qualifications:
The ideal candidates would meet the following requirements:

  • Past experience in working with support staff and training such in their duties to provide exceptional Front Desk Assistance to guests
  • Knowledge/experience with reservations & operations of front desk
  • Having experience in the hospitality industry at the management level
  • Certification or Diploma in the hospitality, travel or tourism sector, or equivalent work experience with a background in business administration
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills for day to day interaction with guests, prospective customers and owners
  • Experience overseeing maintenance department personnel in keeping up a recreational building housing a pool & hot tub, along with the housekeeping department duties in cleaning of cottages
  • Working weekends in absence of Resort Manager
  • Scheduling staff and maintaining resort inventories
  • The right candidate should possess excellent problem solving skills in a proficient and professional manner, while able to deal with customers experiencing issues
  • Produce and assist with the preparation of reports, letters, memos, meeting correspondence, spreadsheets and routine correspondence
Successful candidates will also need to demonstrate a background and skills in:
  • A strong knowledge of repairs to properly maintain property accommodations
  • Understanding of Tourism marketing strategies for a large resort
  • Strong computer and communication skills, along with multi-tasking in a fast paced environment is an absolute must
  • Be a very hands on manager that is motivated, eager and energetic, with an interest in making the resort run successfully, which means assisting all support staff in their duties, while being committed to keeping all guests and owners happy
