Frontend Development Lead (Digital Online Banking)
What is the opportunity?
We are looking for an experienced Frontend Development Lead to join the Digital Online Banking team. Your expertise will drive the design, tooling and development behind the User Interface for the secure Online Banking channel. You will work and lead an ever-growing team of talented front-end developers in scaling, iterating and creating new products. This will include responsive initiatives, single page applications, in house tools and solutions for mobile and desktop.
What will you do?
Managing and mentoring a group of frontend developers and share knowledge with the broader team
Leading technical decisions, scope and planning for upcoming projects - gather project requirements, handle priorities and produce delivery estimates
Code, test and implement the front-end solution to meet business requirements
Organize team/code reviews and maintain code quality and best practices across the Frontend team - ensure test bed is maintained to guarantee the quality of the code
Supervise the creation of intuitive, robust, and reusable user interfaces using modern frameworks
Engage in the entire product development cycle to understand business objectives, user goals, and create solutions that appeal to our clients
Produce high quality solutions that will enhance or simplify existing processes - encourage the use of best practices and workflows throughout the organization
Contribute to team discussions and stand-ups - provide On-site implementation support
What do you need to succeed?
Experience leading a team of Front-End Developers
Solid understanding of responsive/mobile-first design, web standards, UI/UX best practices
Understanding of Accessibility best practices, standards and testing on different devices
CSS architecture and methodology such as SMACSS, BEM, OOCSS and CSS pre-processor (e.g. Sass, Less)
Client-side templating (e.g. Mustache, Handlebars, Jade)
Source control (e.g. Git, SVN)
Single Page Application frameworks (Angular.js, React.js, etc.)
Working with data-handling using AJAX, JSON, and REST API
Build tools such as Grunt or Gulp
Cross-browser development within a large web application
Understanding of client-side performance and browser performance profiling
Familiar with front-end testing and debugging tools (Chrome Developer Tools, etc)
Demonstrated knowledge of client-side performance analysis and optimization techniques
Professional 7+ years with experience in the development of the Front-End for applications with multiple functions.
Function as the Technical LEAD for multiple contending projects.
An eye for design and usability
Familiar with designer tools, such as Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience at a Financial Institution and product/process knowledge
