Test Centre Clerk Contract Jobs Vacancy in Seneca College Applied Arts And Technology North York Jobs Details:
Reporting to the Manager, Test Centres, the incumbent is responsible for administering, securing and invigilating testing within an extended day/week operation. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, promoting a positive experience for all patrons of the Test Centre, ensuring smoothly functioning facility operations and providing support to the Senior Test Centre Officer in sundry areas such as scheduling, testing activities and staffing. • Minimum of a completed one (1) year certificate in Office Operations, Computer Applications, or Business. If in another field of study, state how the education is related.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a fully computerized environment dealing with high volume, detail and customer service is required. • Knowledge and understanding of learning programs offered and the students who use them. • Strong human relation skills to effectively work with a diverse mix of students and Faculty; ability to interact with ease and effectiveness to make sound judgement decisions independently. • Excellent communication and listening skills; maturity to problem solve and think critically; ability to handle stress and work under pressure, while maintaining customer service relations with Faculty, students, parents, and sponsoring agencies.
- Ability to organize workload; establish priorities and work with minimal supervision and a keen eye for detail. • Working knowledge of computer-based testing, software programs such as the Microsoft Office suite, and basic understanding of assistive technologies. PLEASE NOTE: This position includes light lifting up to 5 to 20 kg or 11 to 44 lbs on occasion. • Registers students and invigilates all forms of testing in a timely, efficient, friendly and accurate manner in accordance with Test Centre Guidelines, Academic Policies and prescribed requests.
- Responsible for monitoring and responding to e-mails in the generic Test Centre e-mail and performing all clerical duties related to processing tests that arrive, both in-person and electronically • Processes the testing of external clients, including receiving payment for testing and following the appropriate processes of returning the completed tests to their home institutions. • Responsible for the daily collection and monthly compilation of data regarding student visits. • Creates a positive atmosphere in the Test Centre and promotes a ‘Students First’ approach for all Test Centre services. • Structures, updates and maintains testing files for Accommodated students, Independent Studies and Continuing Education.
- Liaises with the Chairs, Co-ordinators, Faculty, Staff and Students regarding special test requirements. • Each semester incumbent works with Distance Learning department to set up files and administer tests for Ontario Learn within one week deadlines.
