The Government Operations Centre (GOC) is looking for energetic individuals to join a team of officers in support of the role of providing response coordination of events that affect the national interest on behalf of the Government of Canada. The GOC provides an all-hazards integrated federal emergency response to potential or actual hazards, whether these are natural, human-induced, accidental or intentional. The GOC provides 24/7 monitoring and reporting, National-Level situational awareness, warning products and integrated risk assessments, as well as national-level planning and whole-of-government response management. If you are enthusiastic about national security and emergency management work, this may be the opportunity for you.
- The positions in the GOC may require travelling, to work shifts (24/7) on a twelve-hour shift rotation and working overtime on short or no notice. You may also be subject to call-back and lock downs (i.e. remaining at work) for an extended number of days.
Candidates will be required to pay for their own travel (including travel for assessment purposes) and may be required to pay for their own relocation expenses.

Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience working in an emergency management environment and dealing with authorities (i.e., an operations center or in a similar challenging environment related to security or emergency management);
Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Experience in training related to course design, delivery and/or coordination.
Experience in coordinating meetings or working groups (that may involve participants internal and/or external to the federal government.)
Experience working in corporate services.
Knowledge of Canada’s national security priorities.
Knowledge of emergency management planning processes.
