What is the opportunity?
The Scrum Master will be responsible for enabling the Development team to run a low-complexity Agile development process that seamlessly aligns with business and technical needs. The Scrum Master is a key role within an Agile delivery team, as it removes any impediments that obstruct a team’s pursuit of its sprint goals and ultimately delivers a product that of great benefit to Global Asset Management and the next generation of digital asset management.
What will you do?
Initiate the delivery of simple initiatives and assist in the delivery of complex initiatives
Facilitate low-complexity Agile initiatives from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with RBC Agile/Scrum practices (including but not limited to project kick-off, sprint, release and deployment planning)
Accountable alongside the Scrum team for the achievement of release objectives and results that meet the stakeholders’ needs and expectations
Track and report financials for the Scrum team
Remove impediments to delivery success through the proactive management of external dependencies, simple team problem-solving, the consideration of options, the selection of solutions and the escalation of issues through business and/or IT channels where necessary
Create and maintain the appropriate vehicles for open communication (e.g. tracker boards) within the Scrum team to create a trusting and safe team environment
Report team progress and accomplishment up and across, facilitating status updates, product demos and retrospectives
What do you need to succeed?
2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
3+ years of experience in software development and/or project management and/or business (system) analysis or other relevant professional experience
Practical experience with any of the key disciplines required in Agile delivery (e.g. software development, business (system) analysis)
Ability to work with PO, Tech Lead
Ability to analyze team metrics to better serve the team
Certified Agile Practitioner or equivalent
Knowledge of financial functions and trading principles
