The Slaight Family Centre is a donor funded clinical research program for youth in transition, who are at-risk for, or at early stages of severe mental illness. The main goal of the Slaight Family Centre is to put more young people with severe mental illness on a path to recovery, through the development of new treatments, enhancement of early detection efforts, and clinical brain research.
As part of the core team, the Research Coordinator will assist the Research Manager and other research staff on a number of clinical research projects. You will coordinate the recruitment and screening of human subjects into multiple research protocols and ensure compliance for all project activities. You will assist in and oversee the administration and scoring clinical scales, functional tests and a comprehensive battery of neurocognitive assessments. You will also assist and coordinate the data collection process for various studies and monitor the data management process for large databases and quality control. You may also (following training) be required to interpret clinical and neurocognitive scientific data that is collected from studies that fall within the Slaight centre. The incumbent will assist in conducting searches of electronic resources; as well as preparing data for presentations and peer-reviewed research papers. Within these functions, you will also be required to assist with Regulatory submissions, preparing progress reports and power point presentations. Other administrative duties are also required. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This is a full-time contract position. This position is located at the 250 College Street.
The successful candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in Psychology or neuroscience combined with at least two (2) years of relevant research or clinical experience with individuals and/or families with mental health and addiction issues. Previous experience in administration of neuropsychological assessments (e.g., MATRICS, RBANS, etc.), structured diagnostic interviewing (e.g., SCID) and clinical rating scales (e.g., HAMD, YMRS, MADRS, and PANSS) are required. Previous experience in evidence-based treatment interventions including group cognitive behavioral interventions is an asset. Candidates will also have demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large databases and will have literature review and synthesis skills. Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint and database software packages is required. Experience with a variety of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, MATLAB, and R) and data interpretation is an asset. The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders is essential. Superior communications skills (both oral and written) are required as is the ability to explain complex issues in plain language. The candidate will be detail oriented, well organized, with the ability to meet deadlines and to work independently with minimal supervision . Prior research or service experience with individuals and/or families with mental health and addiction issues are an advantage. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Salary Range: $31.44 - $42.42 per hour
