Research Administrative Assistant Jobs Vacancy in University Toronto Toronto Jobs Details:

Reporting to the Business and Administration Director, and receiving functional guidance from the Research Coordinator, the incumbent provides administrative research support for the department.

Key duties include: liaising with departmental researchers and the Research Services Office; providing administrative/clerical support for grant and manuscript preparation; reviewing grant applications ensuring they are in accordance with grant submission requirements; providing administrative coordination for grant ethics review submissions; maintaining research databases; maintaining and updating researchers’ CIHR curriculum vitae; assisting with survey dissemination, data collection and basic data analysis.

In addition, the incumbent will provide general administrative support for the Research Program by: scheduling and providing logistical support for meetings, research rounds, and program events; drafting, formatting and editing correspondences; updating the department’s Research Program web pages and maintaining the Qualtrics survey software.

Qualifications:
(Minimum)

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of study (e.g. in health sciences, health studies, health administration, arts and science) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience preferably in an academic/research environment or teaching hospital. Experience and demonstrated knowledge of university administration, policies, procedures and academic programs. Experience within a research environment, including experience with grant submissions and grant requirements for major funding agencies. Experience with study implementation, data storage and basic analysis and research dissemination. Experience with survey implementation would be an asset. Experience scheduling calendars, coordinating travel, coordinating events, drafting correspondence, developing presentations and maintaining databases and websites.

Skills:
Excellent computer skills with high-level knowledge in: MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Access, Adobe Acrobat), reference management programs (e.g. EndNote, RefWorks, ProCite), a thorough knowledge of general office systems and procedures as well as research software/programs (e.g. SPSS, survey software, Pivot, MRA) is an asset.

Other:
Ability to work proactively in an environment that requires multi-tasking and adaptability on varied duties. Proven ability to work well with a broad variety of stakeholders and ability to maintain relations with individuals and organizations. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and solid organizational and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities. Excellent communication skills: written and verbal. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to exercise good judgment in dealing with faculty, staff and students and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Schedule: Full-time
Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 07 - $48,930 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $62,575. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
