The Centre for Research & Education on Violence against Women and Children promotes the development of community-centered action research on violence against women and children. The Centre facilitates individuals, groups and institutions representing the diversity of the community to pursue research questions and training opportunities related to the understanding and prevention of abuse.
The Office Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and transactional support for various individuals and processes and will offer excellent customer service for all transactions. The incumbent will work under the direction of a supervisor and will prepare, file and distribute documents, correspondence and other materials according to instructions and established procedures. The Clerk will perform data entry as required, respond to general inquiries in person or by telephone and ma maintain an inventory of supplies.
- Community College Diploma in an administrative field
- 2 years of administrative experience providing customer service
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a positive and itmely manner
- Ability to follow formal buisenss practices with high attention to detail
- Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
- Strong keyboarding skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize a fluctuating work load
- Ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Abiliity to interact effectively with students, staff, faculty and other members of the University community
