Fan Expo HQ produces and promotes a growing portfolio of exhibition that includes Fan Expo Canada, Toronto Comic Con, Fan Expo Vancouver, Mega Con Orlando, Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, and Fan Expo Dallas.
We are looking for a creative marketing communications professional with a writing background. Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Manager, the Communications Manager will lead the creation and implementation of marketing communication strategies at FAN EXPO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging content to attract and retain our Fan base across multiple shows in North America. The incumbent will be developing and managing engaging content within 5 verticals of genres for web, social and newsletters.
Create and implement a content marketing strategy-including content creation, curation, and distribution-with the end goals of driving both awareness and customer acquisition
Turn global product requirements into a clear and engaging story for our customers (across all touch points including web, emails, digital, and other external communication pieces)
Partner with channel owners (e.g. guest relations, social, PR,) on messaging that bolsters click-through rates and landing page content that nurtures prospects down the funnel
Author compelling content across different channels (web, blog, social media, collateral, video, e-mail, interactive experiences)
Collaborate with the executive team to determine annual content strategy and plan based on core marketing objectives, trends/themes and key audience needs
Plan and implement effective social media influencer programs for Tier 1 shows
Plan, develop and manage amplification campaigns in social media for marketing campaigns
Prepare measurement and impact reports summarizing the results of social media campaigns
Manage social media calendars and support listening and monitoring programs
Maintain the marketing content calendar
Work cross-functionally with different groups within the Pop Culture Division as needed to ensure copy is accurate, well-presented, and adheres to brand voice/style
Other duties as required
7+ years professional writing experience
Deep understanding of and experience in content strategy for the Pop Culture / Entertainment industry
Prolific content creator with superb writing skills and have a passion for storytelling
Proven track record with published content in both traditional media and online
Strong portfolio of published or professional samples in a variety of marketing communications and channels
Outstanding communication and organizational skills
Creative, flexible, and work well in a fast-paced, results-driven, deadline focused environment
Ability to develop copies for different campaign and channels
At ease managing multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaborating across teams
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, or related field
In-depth understanding of media principles, best practices, creative development, planning and buying functions
An understanding of the processes around inbound marketing, marketing campaigns, demand generation, and lead capturing and nurturing
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Analytics, Sprout or other social media analytics tools, and basic HTML
Proficient in Microsoft Office
