Curriculum Consultant Amend Thpn Jobs Vacancy in University College The North Thompson Jobs Details:
Applications are invited from individuals who can contribute to the ongoing development of the Center for Aboriginal Language and Culture
(CALC) in the areas of Aboriginal language program and curriculum development, facilitate in the learning experiences of Aboriginal language teachers.
The candidate will report directly to the Director of the CALC, and will be responsible to assist in the assignment of student recruitment, CALC promotion
and various other program administrative functions.
Bachelor of Education degree with a combination of experience and education as it directly relates to the position
Minimum two years teaching experience in Aboriginal languages
Fluent Cree speaker with the ability to read and write in Cree
Advanced knowledge in developing and facilitating Aboriginal language workshops for teachers
Proven ability to develop programs and curriculum for Aboriginal languages
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Effective problem solving skills
Excellent organizational skills
Proficient skills in the use of technology
Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively with a team of professionals
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and adult learners in Northern Manitoba
Appreciation and respect for First Nations knowledge, particularly Elder participation in education
Master’s degree preferred
Personal experience to effectively network and liaise with internal and external organizations
Conditions of Employment:
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Criminal and child abuse record clearance
Must possess a valid drivers’ license
Must be flexible to travel
