General Labourers Jobs Vacancy in Federated Operatives Limited Regina Jobs Details:
The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) has been in operation for more than 80 years. Based in Regina, the CRC has been investing in the local economy through major investments, job creation and supporting community initiatives.
From humble beginnings the CRC is now one of Canada’s largest refineries, employing more than 1100 employees who use leading edge technology to process up to 130,000 barrels of crude oil every day.
CRC’s Mission is to Fuel Western Canada, which means continuing to be an economic engine and providing the fuels that power our Western Canadian Economy.
The CRC, located in Regina, SK, is currently recruiting for Semi-Skilled General Labourers for approximately 3 to 7 weeks for the upcoming maintenance Turnaround. Turnaround is a massive annual project in which major portions of the Refinery are shut down for maintenance and inspections that can only be performed when the Refinery is inactive. Because parts of the Refinery are not operating during Turnaround, it is an intense period where work must safely and correctly be completed in a relatively short timeframe.
A successful Turnaround requires properly trained and skilled personnel, strict adherence to safety protocol, and excellent teamwork between all workers. Turnaround sets the CRC up for success, helping it to operate safely, reliability, and more efficiently. Ultimately, Turnaround helps enhance the CRC’s ability to Fuel Western Canada.
Training is provided and will begin as early as February – March 2018, with the first day on site to follow. Candidates must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends and would be expected to complete the full term.
Responsibilities for these positions include, but are not limited to, assisting the various trade sections within the Refinery and performing other duties as assigned during the maintenance Turnaround.
Successful candidates will be mechanically inclined with preference given to those candidates with previous experience in an industrial work environment with a valid Construction Safety Training System (CSTS), Safety Construction Orientation Training (SCOT) or Petroleum Safety Training (PST) certificate. Due to the nature of the work, a positive safety attitude is required.
As these positions are safety sensitive, all applicants will be required to successfully complete a drug and alcohol test and will require a valid criminal record check. The completion of CRC’s orientation and training programs will also be required prior to the first day on site. Further information about these requirements will be provided throughout the recruitment process.
Please note: No living assistance will be provided.
Please apply online at www.co-oprefinery.ca with a copy of your resume by January 19, 2018. We would like to thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
