Our Information Technology Services team administers corporate infrastructure, applications and services related to technology and information management to add business value and lower overall cost and maintenance. This includes technical support in areas such as computer related hardware, software, networks, telecommunications, printer/copier equipment, web and geographic information systems, project management and business analysis. The team provides support and consulting services to various locations and over 56 different business units over 109 locations throughout Chatham-Kent.
Technology is playing a key role in the transformation of local government. Municipal governments are seeking ways to do more with less and are implementing technology-related strategies to assist with advancements, efficiencies, budget challenges and modernization of citizen services.
In partnership, the Information Technology Services team works with the business units to enable and sustain technology services, solutions and new initiatives that assist them with their day to day operations and providing services to their Customers.
What we are looking for? The ideal candidates will possess a college diploma or university degree in a related field (computer science, business informatics, information technology, computer technology, internet technology, geographic information systems, etc.). Graduate students with work experience in their field of study are encouraged to apply. These positions require a candidate who is interested in lifelong learning and interested in continuing education to stay current.
Other requirements? Our positions normally work Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours; some positions may be required to be on call after hours and on weekends. Some IT positions will be drive a municipal vehicle, and therefore the successful candidate will be required to have a valid (class G) Ontario driver’s licence; a driver’s abstract will be conducted by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. Other IT positions may be required to travel using their own vehicle, therefore the successful candidate will be required to have a valid Province of Ontario driver's license with a reliable motor vehicle. Because of the environment this position will be working in, the successful candidate will be required to furnish an original Police Information Search (criminal reference check) prior to commencement of employment.
