Real Property Division (RPD) administers the St. Ann’s Academy community rentals, educational and interpretive programs and leads the day-to-day operations of the St. Ann’s Academy Interpretive Centre.

The Program Coordinator, St. Ann’s Academy is responsible for all matters related to the administration of community rentals, educational and interpretive programs at the St. Ann’s Academy Interpretive Centre and Chapel. The position provides a vital function in connecting and celebrating with the citizens of the province, in particular by developing and managing programs to make this National Historic Site accessible and meaningful to the public. The position also has oversight responsibility for auxiliary employees working at the same site, including innovative scheduling within the terms of the collective contract(s) to maintain public access for rentals of the St. Ann’s facilities and grounds as well as drop-in hours according to schedules set by management. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Must have High School Graduation or GED.

  • Preference may be given to candidates with a degree or diploma.

  • Preference may be given to candidates with a degree or diploma with courses in heritage interpretation, accounting, personnel management, public relations and tourism.

  • Preference may be given to candidates with a degree or diploma specifically in history, museology, heritage management or business management.

  • A minimum of four (4) years of related experience in an interpretive environment and/or facilities or event management is required.

  • Experience with public sector organizations in a related role or fulfilling related functions is required.
