Enterprise Technology & Risk (ETR) is comprised of five primary areas
- Core Infrastructure (CI) manages the infrastructure technology solutions to support the Firm’s daily operations, enable our businesses to expand to new markets, offer new client products, and comply with evolving regulations.- End User Technology (EUT) delivers core communication, collaboration and productivity tools across the Firm, including desktop and mobile devices, remote computing solutions, and multimedia services. - Quality Assurance & Production Management (QAPM) provides production management, quality assurance, and end user services for Institutional Securities and Support Services. QAPM also manages the Enterprise Command Center, Enterprise Systems Management, and Technology Disaster Recovery services.- Technology & Information Risk (TIR) delivers first-line defenses to manage risks to Firm technology. TIR oversees programs that protect and enable the business, ensure secure delivery of services to our clients, address the risks presented by an evolving threat landscape, and meet regulatory expectations. - Technology Business Development (TechBD) manages the Firm’s strategic relationships with external technology companies.
Morgan Stanley is looking for a talented individual to join a team of information security experts responsible for protecting Firm, client, and employee sensitive/confidential data. The Data Leakage team is responsible for implementing and managing the detection technologies and rulesets used to identify and prevent information security and insider threat incidents, supporting all Firm Business Units. In this role you will be responsible for understanding, developing and implementing enterprise wide Information Protection strategies that balance security and business requirements while protecting our brands, reputation, operating environment, and intellectual property.
The Team coordinates with Cyber, Technology, Business Units, Legal, and Corporate Security to gather business requirements, assess risk, ensure adherence to local regulations, and assess resource availability across the teams impacted by the implementation of controls in the environment.
This is a technical role and the selected candidate will be located in Montreal, working with a global team of IT Security professionals.
- Determine and implement appropriate data leakage controls and policies, as well as the placement of such, to satisfy business and regulatory and audit requirements- Compile and validate statistical data to be used to determine the viability of implementing specific data leakage controls in the production environment- Assist in the ongoing review of data leakage controls, policies, and processes- Proactively assess safeguards across the tool suite to identify potential risks and perform trend analysis- Work with Incident Response teams to identify and enhance data leakage controls in response to incidents- Utilize Symantec DLP to generate and maintain email, endpoint and web monitoring policy- Support the administration and maintenance of existing data leakage controls and policies in response to changes in local regulation, organizational structure, or business needs
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role- Bachelor Degree in a related field- Experience in Incident Management, Information Security, and familiarity with data privacy matters- Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and maintain confidentiality- Very strong verbal and written English communications skills- Familiarity with sensitive data types/identifiers, classifications, etc.- Ability to understand drivers and priorities, with regard to business and regulatory requirements- Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills- Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Hands-on experience with data analytics tools such as Splunk or Qlikview- Flexible, highly driven, self-motivated, and able to collaborate effectively with multiple teams across the Firm and external vendors- Strategic thinker who is able to balance short and long term deliverables- Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
