DISTRICT PRINCIPAL – Student Information Systems

The district is seeking interest from exemplary educators to join its dynamic team as District Principal – Student Information Systems.
Members of the Student Information Systems Department work as a close-knit team of highly skilled professionals where integrity, collaboration, and a commitment to on-going district support is paramount. The team is responsible for managing and maintaining student records in MyEdBC including Ministry Reporting, security and access. The team supports schools and district departments in the ongoing implementation of MyEdBC functionality. In addition, the District Principal will work closely with our Research and Data Visualization team and our senior leadership team including Assistant Superintendents. This collaboration provides key information in support of our Research and Evidence initiatives as well as our ongoing decision making processes.
We invite applications from educators who have demonstrated the following:
Experience as a school principal or vice-principal K-12;
High degree of professional credibility;
Exceptional formal leadership experience, preferably at the district level;
Success as a system change agent;
Strong knowledge and experience in working with MyEdBC and supporting systems;
Strong knowledge and understanding of Ministry funding and reporting policies and Ministry curriculum;
Strong knowledge and understanding of school and district operations, procedures and policies;
Understanding of school and district student records management;
Ability to understand, analyze and use data to support strategic directions;
Skill in building relationships with colleagues in support of a respectful and inclusive environment of success for all;
Superior interpersonal and communications skills; and
Ability to collaboratively problem-solve complex situations.
The qualifications required for selection to a position of district principal include a master’s degree. If an individual is appointed without a master’s degree, the individual will be required to enroll in a master’s program and must complete the program within a specified time period.
