What is the opportunity?
As the Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for acting in a senior capacity within the Announcement Capture team. You will review corporate action notices from multiple vendors, setting up notices and ensuring they are verified internally for accuracy, consistency and completeness, as well as assisting with the flow of inquiries received within the Announcement Capture team.
** This is a 1 year full time-contract opportunity.
What will you do?
Identify procedures and processes which may require improvement and recommend changes that will enhance operational efficiency
Ensure appropriate checklists and templates are always utilized for identified events
Monitor appropriate Notifications Queues throughout the day to ensure all outstanding items are actioned or escalated for review
Seek clarification from Issuer/Agent/Lawyer/Depositories on all unclear notices and/or notices where additional information is required
Complete follow-up on all notifications released in preliminary status, and ensure that notices are updated to completed status prior to expiry of the event.
Ensure all items in preliminary status are followed up within 10 days for accuracy and completeness
Respond to or acknowledge all inquiries within 24 hours of receipt.
Ensure updates to notification relating to payment advises are completed with the timelines as set out in policies and procedures.
Ensure Corporate Action ESS is advised of all outstanding issues where notices can not be completed due to depository information
Respond to internal or external client inquiries ensuring responses are executed in a professional manner and consistent with the timelines as set out in policies and procedures.
What do you need to succeed?
Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of Corporate Action principles
Proficiency in the use of MS Office
Ability to deal effectively with client service issues
Completed the Canadian Securities Course
In Depth Knowledge and experience of Corporate Actions
Excellent knowledge of custody systems
