A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a challenging and rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs).


As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high-performance SSD projects.


Join a collaborative and innovative team of engineers in developing Virtual Platforms for future generations of Intel SSDs!


Virtual Platforms are software simulation models of hardware designs and are used for pre-silicon software development, HW/SW co-validation, and architectural exploration. The Virtual Platform team works on a wide range of tasks spanning the whole product development lifecycle, including model design, development, and testing, infrastructure development, third party IP integration, and deployment and support of virtual platforms for a full spectrum of use cases.


We are looking for enthusiastic students with communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving ability, a desire to learn.


Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a nonexempt technical nature.


Canadian experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job.


Job assignments will be based on available projects during the work term and on the skills and interests of the student.


Behavioral traits:

Experience with computing and hardware chip designs.

Qualifications

You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.


Must have unrestricted right to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship.


Minimum Requirements:


Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.


Minimum 3 months experience with:

  • C++.
  • Object oriented design methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scripting exposure in Python, Perl, or other.
  • Embedded development ARM, MIPS, or other.
  • Computing and hardware chip designs.
