Job Description Summary Reporting to the Analytical Group Head, the successful candidate for this position will use scientific knowledge and critical thinking to develop a raw material qualification program with a focus on analytical characterization of albumin.
The candidate will work collaboratively with RnD, QC, and Procurement supporting raw material selection based on the critical attributes for use with cell culture media, reduced risk and cost effectiveness analysis. The candidate will participate in shaping the newly formed analytical team. Job Description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support product and process development by leading analytical characterization of materials and finished products Lead multidisciplinary product development studies resulting in clear recommendations on product storage conditions, material compatibility and qualification criteria Work with various departments to validate product specification ranges throughout development batch production and testing Oversee transfer of the analytical methods to QC Actively design and execute scientific experiments in order to characterize and quantify proteins for use with cell culture media Identify modern analytical methodologies to facilitate product and process characterization Identify and troubleshoot complex technical and experimental problems Analyze and present technical data to the STEMCELL's project teams Prepare protocols, scientific reports and technical documents QUALIFICATIONS M.Sc. degree in Chemistry or related field with minimum of six years analytical experience or Ph.D.
with minimum of three years analytical experience Experience with a wide range of analytical techniques (HPLC/UPLC, GC, LC-MS, CE, NMR, SDS-PAGE, Raman/ IR Spectroscopy, DSC, UV/VIS) General knowledge of cell culture and cell culture media is an asset Experience with characterization of complex biological solutions and biological raw materials such as small molecules, proteins and lipids Experience with development, transfer and validation of analytical methods Experience with statistical data analysis and design of experiment Exposure to ISO 13485 quality management system and cGMP guidance Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Leadership and strong work ethics Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, are required Capable of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams and delivering on complex objectives under aggressive timelines Excellent organization skills Enjoying experimental design and hands-on laboratory investigations Detail oriented Familiar with Empower, Chemstation, Excel, MS Word, Google Drive, Statistical Softwares This is an opportunity to work with highly motivated colleagues in a science-oriented, creative and dynamic environment.
