What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Technical Systems Analyst you will be responsible for the maintenance and escalated support of the distributed (Windows/Linux/Unix) applications. You will partner across IT and assigned business lines, troubleshoot issues and assess technical system needs in order to resolve business and operational issues and provide solutions. This specific role will support the Channel Applications Team within the Digital Cheque Processing group. You will have opportunities to work on critical, core RBC applications, do challenging and highlighting impacting work while communicating with leaders who support your development goals.
What will you do?
Support of the production and development environments, including creating and reviewing technical design documentation, implementation plans, environment tracking, requirements review and technical support.
Assess, research and analyze business and system needs, exploring alternative options to recommend technology solutions and designs that meet sponsor needs and Project Life Cycle (PLC).
Design, document and execute unit test, system, integration and acceptance test.
Prepare high level and detailed technical specifications for small to medium projects in accordance with Project Life Cycle (PLC), security and architecture documentation objectives.
Provide accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of the project.
Development environment system deployment, comparative analysis, tracking results and communicating.
Contribut6e to and participate in walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs and unit test plans.
Participate in all phases of testing (integration, end-to-end, performance, PIV , etc.).
Support implementation and operations (provide after-hours support/on-call pager rotation).
Resolve conflicts/issues and escalate as appropriate with the ability to communicate effectively in both technical business terms.
What do you need to succeed?
Experience working in a 24/7 support environment
Strong analytical thinker and self-driven, capable of working in a fast paced environment
Experience and understanding of a multi-platform environment
Proficient knowledge of Windows Server, AIX, Linux and UNIX.
Working knowledge of SQL and DB technologies
Knowledge of IT Standards (ITIL), Methodologies, SDLC, & audit requirements
Ability to function within a team-based environment
Ability to self-manage deadlines
Be able to communicate effectively in both technical and business terms
Nice to have
DB2/Oracle/Informix database experience
Experience with Mainframe z/OS Technologies such as IMS, DB2, JCL, MVS, TSO/ISPF, Endevor, On Demand, ZEKE, Spufi, RACF along with experience on SQL database
Knowledge of MQSeries, WebSphere Application Server
Knowledge of DevOps, Urban Code Deploy, and deployment/QA automation
