The Administrative Assistant I is responsible to provide administrative support to the Manager, Patient Access. Primary responsibilities include administrative support (calendars, meetings, minutes, data maintenance, performance development, trouble-shooting and budget preparation) and staff support (scheduling and timekeeping). The position is an integral point of contact between staff and leadership. The position is responsible for assisting with the efficient and effective organization of Patient Access.
Rate of Pay: $22.977 per hour - $28.720 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 Hours per Week
Successful completion of a one year Community College Secretarial Program
Minimum two (2) years recent secretarial or administrative experience; at a senior level preferred
Demonstrated advanced computer skills including Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet/Intranet
Demonstrated advanced skill with WorkBrain Time Entry
Demonstrated ability to process and maintain employee forms, such as absenteeism records, and vacation requests
Demonstrated skill in performing payroll functions, gathering data for reports and maintaining supply orders
Demonstrated ability to maintain the manager’s calendar, scheduling meetings, appointments, employee interviews, travel and conferences as directed
Demonstrated ability to process incoming and outgoing mail, composing routine correspondence as directed for manager’s signature
Demonstrated ability in organizing logistics for meetings, seminars, and special events
Demonstrated skill in minute taking of meetings and transcribing minutes for review and distribution
Demonstrated well developed interpersonal and communication skills, in person, in writing and by phone
Demonstrated ability to work independently, accurately and in a well-organized manner using above average levels of initiative and discretion
Demonstrated ability to prioritize fluctuating workload demands with minimal supervision
Demonstrated knowledge of privacy and confidentiality policy and practices
Demonstrated ability to initiate projects, respect deadlines and organize work environment
Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the LHSC employee core competencies
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
