What is the opportunity?
In this role, you will support officers in the Estate and Trust group in administering the account portfolio assigned to them, i.e. contributes to efficient, accurate and timely administration and provides superior client service. Team play is an important skill in this role as success is dependent on working in co-operation with others.
What will you do?
Supports officers in the Estate and Trust group in providing quality client service and administering accounts in an efficient, accurate and timely manner
Reactively, and where required proactively, maintains written, verbal and electronic communication with officers and external contacts
Assists officers in ensuring that all trusts and estates administered in accordance with the terms of governing documents, relevant legislation, client needs, company policy and the department’s objectives
Understands the Estate and Trust group’s service standards, as well as the need for administrative consistency and continuous improvement
Addresses all matters requiring the exercise of discretionary powers to the discretionary committee
Ensures all account information on internal systems is up to date, complete, and accurate
Utilizes central support groups (e.g. Operations, Income Tax) to ensure efficient administration and quality client service
Recognizes and directs new business and referral opportunities to the appropriate Officer or Regional Manager
What do you need to succeed?
Understanding of relevant legal and investment terminology and principles
Excellent verbal, written, electronic communication skills
Ability to work effectively with others and to be perceived by others as a team player
Post-secondary education or equivalent, university degree preferred
Canadian Securities Course (completed within two years in position)
STEP - Canadian Estate and Trust Administration Level 1 (CETA 1 to be completed in 12 months)
