Coordinator Jobs Vacancy in Alberta Health Services Calgary Jobs Details:

Specific Accountabilities: The Self-Management Coordinator (Better Choices, Better Health), under the direction of the Program Manager, is responsible for the overall planning, development, evaluation and implementation of the Chronic Disease, Chronic Pain, and Workplace Self-Management Programs in the Calgary Zone. This includes assisting in defining program goals, developing program strategies, marketing and recruitment of volunteer lay leaders, and the day to day operations of the Better Choices, Better Health Program, including assigning tasks to support staff. This position is accountable for training volunteer lay leaders and clinicians who facilitate self-management workshops in the Calgary Zone, ensuring all trained leaders meet fidelity requirements, planning and organizing refresher sessions, organizing observations, implementing marketing strategies for self-management classes, scheduling BCBH workshops, collecting program data and assisting in the analysis of program outcomes. This position needs to communicate, collaborate and develop programs in conjunction with multiple stakeholders within AHS and external to the organization, including provincial counterparts in other Zones. The Self-Management Coordinator is also accountable for maintaining the quality of the program as per training and licensing agreements establish with the Self-Management Resource Centre (SMRC). The BCBH Coordinator is formally responsible for the leadership and performance of all of our facilitators, including master trainers, in order to meet the highest standards of service provision and best practice for facilitation. This position has decision-making authority in conjunction with other AHLP management, regarding the work of BCBH facilitators.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a health related area or equivalent. Member of a recognized health college, licensing body, or related certification. Three of the last five years working in a health related profession in the area of chronic disease management. Understanding of and experience in the principles of adult education and facilitation. Strong communication skills required for working with internal and external stakeholders. Leadership skills to mentor, support, direct self-management facilitators; as well as work with internal managers, clinical teams and other AHS programs. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, consultative manner and establish and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with a wide variety of clients, colleagues, and team members. Demonstrated ability to problem solve, use sound judgement, and provide leadership to facilitators. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate program changes and promote and facilitate the change process with groups. Consistent outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive and respectful professional relationships with team members and contacts within the community. Compassionate and enthusiastic personality.

Advanced communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups too effectively and respectfully communicate. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in a health related area. SMRC – BCBH leader. SMRC – BCBH trainer. SMRC – BCBH master trainer. Health Change Methodology Workshop Training. Three years of the past five working in a community setting. Experience working with culturally diverse and vulnerable populations. Knowledge of information systems. Supervision of staff. Project Management. Working with volunteers. Clinical experience with adults.
