One year term position at 0.6 to 1.0 FTE (with possibility of extension)

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a combination of clinical expertise in spinal cord injury and experience implementing research evidence into practice to provide clinical leadership and direction to the research and knowledge translation activities of the Rick Hansen Institute (RHI). This position will collaborate with a team of clinicians and also work closely with other units of RHI including the Clinical Research Operations, Data Services, and Research and Best Practice Implementation Teams. If you have a clinical degree and previous experience in quality and risk management in a hospital setting, we strongly encourage you to apply.
Provide clinical input on national and international research and best practice projects and this includes activities such as cleaning data, interpreting clinical data results, and identifying the relevance of research findings to clinical practice.
Develop and implement project-specific clinical site education including the preparation of clinical outcome measure training documents; and clinical outcome measure data collection training.
Present information on RHI clinical studies to national and international network sites. This could include technical demos, national meetings, coordinator calls, Principal Investigator communications, site visits, etc.
Provide clinical expertise and training for internal RHI clinical education activities.
Provide clinical/subject matter expertise to assist with IT Platform development.
Perform other duties as related to the qualifications and requirements of the job.
Some travel may be required.
The ideal candidate will have:
A clinical degree (e.g. BSc PT, BSc OT, RN).
Experience in quality and risk management in a hospital setting is required.
Clinical experience working in the area of spinal cord injury is considered an asset.
Ability to exercise professional clinical judgement and initiative to advise on clinical aspects of RHI projects.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively to a wide audience, including patients, clinicians, researchers, healthcare administration and policy-makers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to generate reports as required.
