As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).Additional Required Qualifications:
Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention training, De-escalation training & Debriefing training required. Ability to organize activities and set priorities. Computer literacy mandatory, including, MS office, NetCare, VAX, E-clinician, E-critical and EDIS. A minimum of two years acute care experience required, and preferably with experience in mental health assessment or within an ER environment. Advanced knowledge and competency of mental health and addictions, intervention, risk assessment, crisis intervention, strong knowledge of SW theories and practice models as well as counselling theories, active listening skills, critical thinking skills, effective problem solver, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and within a team environment. Ability to prioritize competing demands and ability to work independently with little or no direct daily supervision. Ability to function effectively within the interdisciplinary team required. Requires initiative, clinical judgment and advanced assessment and intervention skills.Preferred Qualifications:
Masters in Social Work preferred (equivalent education and experience may be considered). Authorization to perform psychosocial interventions preferred. Ability to establish positive working relationships with a variety of patients and families. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team demonstrating caring, respectful relationships.
