Constituency Assistant Permanent Part Time Position Hours Week Jobs Vacancy in New Democratic Party Canada Cranbrook Jobs Details:

Manage constituent casework in the riding as well as the required follow up

  • Respond to constituents’ requests
  • Interact with various federal government departments
  • Organize information meetings in connection with government services and programs
  • Perform various administrative tasks
  • Conceptualize, write, and edit engaging content for web, e-mail, video, social media and other digital platforms
  • Maintain database lists in coordination with the Ottawa parliamentary office
  • Represent the Member at events and meetings
  • Monitor events in riding and advise the Member on issues concerning the riding
  • Interact with the House of Commons and the MPs Parliament Hill office to ensure proper coordination with the Riding
  • All other related tasks
  • Qualifications

    • Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
    • Knowledge of government departments and community organizations
    • Proficient at digital media and content creation
    • Strong Knowledge of Kootenay-Columbia and riding priorities
    • Excellent computer skills, specifically good knowledge of Windows 7 and MS Office 2010
    • Familiarity with desktop publishing software, graphic layout skills
    • Experience working with social media (e.g. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc.), an asset
    • Knowledge of databases, an asset
    • BC driver’s license required

    Hourly rate


    (salary levels subject to clauses 12 and 21 of the collective agreement)
