The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is seeking an auxiliary Fine Arts Leader to support in the Community Programs area. This position will provide guidance to instructors while maintaining the smooth operations of programs in schools and community centres, as well as preparing and maintaining records, reports, and equipment and supply inventories for Fine Arts programs. The successful incumbent will have sound knowledge of safe work practices and be comfortable dealing with the public and will prepare studios and classroom spaces for use, ensure classes and instructors are supported, assist with general administrative duties and displays and marketing. This position consistently works with Community Coordinators, school PACs, administrators, support staff and teachers in the Burnaby school district. A Fine Arts Leader will also perform other related work as required.
The successful incumbent will possess a two year community college course in a Fine Arts specialty including courses in teaching and some related instruction experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful incumbent will maintain effective relationships with staff and patrons, while assisting the Programmer. Highlighted abilities for this role include strong customer service skills, self-motivation, superior communication skills and the ability to work independently. A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is also a requirement for this position. Experience with the CLASS registration system is considered an asset.

Pay Rate: $26.91 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
